USB-disk images

I fail miserably when I try to use disk- or tape images on USB drives.

Logged in to the backend, I can see the USB-drive is mounted and readable.

I have tried to put different tape- and disk images on a USB-drive, but when I try to load them the system only reports 'There are no unmounted RK1 (or whatever) files found'.

Did I miss something in the installation process? What are the file extensions required for disk- resp. Tape-images?

Any help/advice will be appreciated.

Also I have not found an image that has a full working FORTRAN implementation. Do they exist?

Thanks in advance,

Jacob / daScientist

The table of values is here. The DF switch position determines which file names we search for. This is also documented here.

I have not found an image...

Where are you looking? Are you aware that the stock OS/8 disk image that you get with this software includes FORTRAN II and FORTRAN IV tool chains?

that has a full working FORTRAN implementation.

The above-referenced tool chains have worked each time I tried it. See this wiki article for instance.

If you can't reproduce the same results by following that article, then you should post more details. I infer from your question that you are a software developer: give us the sort of bug report you want your users to give to you. I'm going to guess that "it doesn't work" is not the sort of bug report you prefer to receive.
